Inside guide by a Portsmouth Wedding Photographer

Alongside photographing countless weddings in this building, it’s also the place that I got married myself, so I think that makes me qualified to tell you a few things about it.

Things to know:

• Located in Burnaby Rd in Southsea.
• Maximum capacity of 45 Guests
• Dedicated Garden space for group photos
• Free, on-site car parking
• Step-free access to ceremony room via a lift.

Milldam House is a charming Victorian building based in Southsea, with heaps of character and dedicated gardens at the side for those family and couple photographs after your ceremony.

The interior houses a beautiful central staircase that leads to the
ceremony room and doubles as a perfect photo spot for rainy days.

It has also has on-site parking for easy access and is a 10 minute walk into central Southsea or Gunwharf Quays; ideal for those wanting to book a pub/restaurant for a post-ceremony celebration.

So, if you’re looking for a super relaxed way to get married on your terms, without the expense of a bespoke wedding venue, this is perfect for you.

Looking for a cool venue for after the ceremony?

From pubs to restaurants, boutique hotels and even the local castle; Portsmouth has loads to offer when it comes to options for wedding reception venues.
As an experienced Portsmouth wedding photographer and a lifelong Pompey resident, I’ve compiled a full guide to all my favourite wedding spots in the city and even broken it down into venues with full-day offerings as well as more casual options for receptions only.

Tom photographed our Registry office wedding in September.

We originally planned to just hand a camera around family to get pictures.
I convinced my husband that we needed a pro and we’re so glad we found Tom!

Registry office wedding but also
having a cool party afterwards?

I’m 100% there.

There’s so many reasons why you’d choose a Registry Office wedding and
all of them are totally valid and equally as cool to be part of.

Maybe the awesome pub/restaurant venue you’ve found doesn’t have a licence for ceremonies? Or it’s just so local to the Registry Office it just makes sense.

Either way, if you’re wanting longer photography coverage of your Portsmouth wedding celebration than the 2 hours above, check out my full pricing page for all the other options I have available.

Equally if you’re exchanging vows at the Portsmouth office, then having a celebrant led service on a different day, fill in the contact form and we can chat multi-day coverage over there.
